The Kini beach is 10 km away from Hermoupolis and it is located to the west of Syros. It is well organized as it features umbrellas, sunbeds, showers, a lifeguard with proper equipment and a WC. It has also free parking and it is accredited with a Blue Flag.
Cafés, restaurants and accommodation are situated nearby the sea. Kini beach is the most ideal place on the island, offers a unique view of the sunset. In the center of the beach, you can find the fountain with the statue of the mermaid holding in her hands and saving the shipwreck. It has a small harbour, where boats often depart to the northern – virgin beaches of the island.
People can reach Kini by buses (frequent services), by taxis, by private cars and by private boats. For people with disabilities , there are specific parking sppots and an appropriate WC for disabled ones. Furhtermore, there is a ramp leading the bathers to the beach and to the sea. At the south end of the coast, there is the Aquarium which is also accessible to disabled people.
